What is BOTOX Cosmetic?

OUR BOTOX / DYSPORT TREATMENTS

Botox Cosmetic - Rejuvenation Clinic - Vienna Med Spa

Botox is an injectable neuromodulation treatment used to prevent the contraction of targeted facial muscles to prevent or reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Over time, repeated facial expressions cause the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators temporarily and partially paralyze specific muscles to allow the skin to become smooth and lifted once again. Botox was the first cosmetic treatment of its kind and has become a go-to treatment for millions, earning itself a position as a household name in cosmetics. However, since its conception, other cosmetic neuromodulator products have begun to emerge, including Dypsport and Xeomin. While all three products are effectively similar, there are slight differences that may make one a better choice for some patients or areas of treatment. During your consultation, one of our skilled injection specialists will assess your concerns to recommend the product that will deliver your best results.

BOTOX for Excessive Sweating

Free Yourself From Hyperhidrosis

Severe and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) can interfere with work, socializing, personal relationships, and confidence. Botox was FDA approved for the treatment of excessive sweating in the axilla (underarm). It does this by weakening the nerves around the sweat glands to help decrease sweat production. This treatment can provide 4-6 months of relief. Typically, 50-100 units of Botox is injected per side of the treatment area (underarm, palms). Treatments are usually repeated 2-3 times a year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does it take to receive Botox treatment?

Botox injections take only a few minutes to perform, and most of our patients are in and out of our office in less than 30 minutes.

You may begin to notice a difference in treated areas just a couple of days after your appointment. However, your full results will develop over the course of one to two weeks.

Results from Botox typically last between three and four months. However, the longevity of your results varies from patient to patient. Some patients may be able to wait longer between treatments, while others may need regular quarterly treatments to maintain their results.

Botox injections are minimally uncomfortable. You may experience a slight pinch upon each injection, but treatment is considered very tolerable for most patients. Your treatment provider may provide you with ice or topical numbing before the injection process.

There is virtually no recovery time after Botox. You can return to your normal routine immediately after your appointment. However, we do recommend that you avoid lying down for four hours and refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment to achieve the best results.
